Alpine eclogite-facies modification of Li-Cs-Ta pegmatite from the Wolfsberg lithium deposit, Austria

چکیده
Abstract The Wolfsberg lithium deposit in Austria is one of the largest Li-Cs-Ta pegmatite resources Europe. part Austroalpine Unit Pegmatite Province Eastern Alps that formed during high-temperature, low-pressure Permian extensional event and was subsequently overprinted by Cretaceous eclogite-facies metamorphism Alpine orogeny. two types distinguished at deposit, amphibolite hosted-(AHP) mica schist hosted-(MHP) pegmatite, consist quartz, albite, K-feldspar, muscovite spodumene with accessory apatite, beryl columbite. Both have similar peraluminous granitic compositions element distribution patterns. However, AHP contains higher Li Cs concentrations. display LREE-enriched/HREE-depleted chondrite-normalized REY patterns suggest derivation from partial melting basement HT/LP event. more strongly affected MHP relative to AHP, resulting recrystallization primary assemblages metamorphic lower rare-metal concentrations, development a strong foliation, which (re)mobilized elements (e.g., Li, Cs) were concentrated along localized shear zones. Recognition remobilization associated overprinting may bear important implications towards mineral exploration for other metamorphosed terranes.

Eclogite-facies fluid infiltration: constraints from dO zoning in garnet
In situ analysis reveals that eclogite-facies garnets are zoned in dO with lower values in the core and rims that are *1.5 to 2.5 % higher. This pattern is present in 9 out of 12 garnets analyzed by SIMS from four orogenic eclogite terranes, and correlates with an increase in the mole fraction of pyrope and Mg/Fe ratio from core to rim, indicating prograde garnet growth. At the maximum temperat...

FERROTAPIOLITE AS A PSEUDOMORPH OF STIBIOTANTALITE FROM THE LAŠTOVIČKY LEPIDOLITE PEGMATITE, CZECH REPUBLIC; AN EXAMPLE OF HYDROTHERMAL ALTERATION AT CONSTANT Ta/(Ta + Nb)
Dark brown porous ferrotapiolite is a dominant product of alteration in pseudomorphs after primary stibiotantalite from the lepidolite pegmatite at Laštovičky, western Moravia, Czech Republic. Two compositionally distinct varieties of ferrotapiolite were recognized, a volumetrically dominant Fe3+-rich phase and a very rare Sb-rich phase. Niobium-rich ferrotapiolite, with up to 17.51 wt.% Nb2O5 ...
متن کاملWhole-rock Geochemistry and Metamorphism of Blueschist/eclogite-facies Mafic Rocks on Syros, Cyclades, Greece
The island of Syros consists largely of possibly-repeated sequences of glaucophane-bearing calcareous schists, mafic schists, dolomite marbles, and calcite marbles containing abundant aragonite pseudomorphs (Dixon, 1969; Hecht, 1984). Several discrete, fault-bounded packages of blueschist/eclogite-facies mafic rocks with minor serpentinite are also found on the island. Although the mafic rocks ...

Coral-rich strata of the Leitha Limestone of Badenian age (Middle Miocene) at the type-locality in Grosshoeflein (Burgenland province, Austria) were re-interpreted from an actualistic viewpoint in comparison with Recent Bahamian and Arabian Gulf coral communities. The investigated outcrop (quarry "Fenk'j is interpreted as a sequence of framebuilding coral carpets and non-framebuilding biostroma...
